Laboratory Manager (Greater Boston, MA)
Description: Venture Forward has a unique opportunity available for a motivated, energetic individual who is interested in managing the Operations side of the lab environment. The right person for this opportunity is independent, driven, and knowledgeable in regard to managing the efficient operation of multiple laboratories simultaneously.
This person will embrace working in multiple locations (locally), and have the ability to self-manage, with the benefit of a backup team.
Requirements:
Familiarity with laboratory equipment & monitoring programs
4 plus years of experience in Lab Management
Prior supervisory skills
Must have vehicle

Understanding of laboratory building systems: RODI, pH Neutralization, Vacuum, Compressed Air and Emergency Generators

Laboratory Operations Associate (Greater Boston, MA)
Description: Venture Forward has a unique opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who is looking to join forces with a small team in a fast-paced environment. Working with multiple companies on the Operations side, responsibilities would include handling items such as daily laboratory operations and equipment procurement. The opportunity includes learning the lab environment with the goal of managing a lab, installing lab equipment, planning relocations, and lab design.
This individual is welcome to apply from all aspects of industry or academia with or without any direct laboratory background. A science background is preferred but not required.
The right person for this position will have the personality and temperament to communicate with all levels of the team, within a biotech environment and have the ability to self-manage time and priorities. Technical training will be provided, resulting in certifications required within the industry.

Project Manager (Greater Boston, MA)
Description: Venture Forward has extensive experience in lab design and construction, with a dual background in operations and facility management. We seek to bring on a Project Manager who will provide an additional dimension to the existing offering of services. The Project Manager will be involved with the project from inception, supporting clients from lease to punch list. Venture Forward learns the vision of our clients and assists in creating budgets and schedules and managing throughout the project duration for a product that is on time, on budget and exceeds expectations.
Requirements:
Read and understand the letter of intent, lease, tenant landlord matrix and provide feedback to client as needed
Understand Tenant Improvement funds and landlord requirements
Determine and define scope of work and deliverables
Identify resources needed to complete project
Draft and submit budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
Manage value engineering efforts in order to meet budget
Provide review, comments and direction over contracts and subcontracts tied to each project.
Manage construction schedule and other activities required to maintain proper timelines.
Lead weekly project meetings by issuing agendas and keeping meeting minuets
Issue regular progress updates regarding costs and timelines
Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships
Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture preferred but not required
3-5 years of experience in construction project management
Comfortable with running multiple projects at the same time while ensuring quality work
Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
Ability to read engineering specifications and recommend value engineering
Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles
Ability to manage, budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
Experience with project management software and CAD are a plus

Manager, Finance & Accounting (Greater Boston, MA)
Description: Venture Forward Partners is looking for a Manager of Finance & Accounting, to join the team! Responsibilities include accounting operational functions related to managing time sheets and client billing, payroll, preparation of monthly financial statements and assuring quarterly and annual external filings. The Manager will assist with the preparation of budgets, forecasts and internal reporting and analysis. The opportunity to manage external accounts with small biotechs, is a possibility.
Responsibilities for this role include:
Manage the general accounting, budgeting, reporting, accounts payable and payroll functions.
Manage VFP internal time keeping process, i.e., track, maintain, bill clients for hours due, provide monthly reports to CEO
Regular bookkeeping and accounting activities – monthly close, monthly reporting, and general financial administration
Develop and/or improve upon established procedures for setting up new vendors (contracts, W-9s) and paying monthly invoices; manage payables and cash disbursements, Follow up on Aging Report and internal controls
Reconcile cash accounts, track cash usage and prepare cash flow projections
Establish reporting template and perform monthly, quarterly and annual reporting (internal and external)
Responsible for 401K administration for company
Work with the Company management team to prepare operating plans and budgets
Input of budget in QuickBooks
Maintain QuickBooks for external billing
Manage insurance and banking relationships and service levels
Manage semi-monthly payroll and assure correct benefits contributions
Update and manage the Company’s cap table
Assist with tax returns, as appropriate
Assist with preparing for and managing financial statement audits
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management is required
Master’s degree or CPA is a plus
Ten years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in biotech
Public accounting experience including SEC reporting, 10Q and 10K filing preferred
Computer Skills: QuickBooks and Excel a must; Intacct, NetSuite, Great Plains, Equity Edge a plus
Interest in early startup and growth stage companies
Experience in IPO preparation, SOX, SEC compliance a plus
Forecasting, budgeting, and tax compliance experience is a must
Implementation of financial systems and ability to bring efficiencies
Ability to create cost modeling
Strong analytical problem-solving skills
FP&A experience a plus
Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
Ability to communicate proactive solutions to identified opportunities for improvement or issues
